One Week Old!
I am one week old today! It's been a week of major adjustments for my parents. Mom and Dad are doing really well with the lack of sleep. I think last night was the best night of sleep for them. I'm sure Mom got almost a total of 6.5 hours. That's pretty good, considering I just wanted to get up to eat and I didn't cry at all. I'm such a good sleeper. This week has been a whirlwind of emotions, we have gone through extreme happiness to being extreme overwhelmed. We're so thankful for the people who have been so supportive of everything that has happened this week. I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday and had to get weighed. I only gained an ounce so I'm up to 6lbs 4oz, so we are taking a trip to the lactation consultant today to make sure that I'm getting enough food when I eat. I've had my first bath and that went pretty good. I really like getting my hair washed but got really mad when mom cleaned the rest of my body. I get a lot of hiccups, fart, eat, pee and poop but I'm really cute so it doesn't matter when I make a stink.

I'm a Local Celebrity!
We've made the Columbus Dispatch. They came to the hospital on Tuesday and asked my mom if they could do a human interest story on my grandma Andow-Plum. The story was on first-time moms and first-time grandmas.

This is the link to the article on my daddy's page.
Everything is accurate and it made my mom cry, so it must have been good. How cool is it that I'm a local celeb and that I had my paparazzi before I was even born. I'm so much more interesting than Britney Spears. Let's see what I can do next!

We're Home!
Well John pretty much gave you all the information about the birth. We just got home today around 2:30pm. So far so good. The only one who is a little out of whack is the dog, but she'll calm down eventually. She even took a nap right next to the baby's pack n play today. I'll post more when I'm not so exhausted but just wanted to let everyone know to look for an article of us in the Columbus Dispatch on Saturday. I'll post the article when it comes. Now it's time to feed the baby and getting some much needed sleep. I'm on like 10 hours of sleep for the last 3 days.

Lucia Lynn Fatica
This is John posting. Abbey is busy recovering, so I'm going to post a brief story and some vitals.
I climb into bed at about 2:30am Tuesday morning shortly after arriving home from work when Abbey springs up exclaiming that I kicked her. "No wait, my water broke!" And just like that, we were off to the hospital.
Everything seemed to be advancing very quickly. Contractions started shortly after we got the hospital. Contractions became almost unbearable after about an hour. (Note: do not tap your fingers on the chair while your wife is having a contraction.) Abbey received an epidural, and the nurse informed us that she was already at 7cm! This is at about 6am. After that, everything pretty much stopped....except for the contractions. We stayed at 7cm for almost 6 hours. The doctor increased the inducing medication to try and get things moving again. Finally everything picked up and we were at 10cm within an hour. There was about an hour of pushing, some slight thoughts of a c-section since the baby seemed stuck, and then finally some forcep action. We had our baby girl.
She was born at 2:00pm on February 19th, 2008. She weighed 6lbs 14oz, and was 18.5 inches long. The professional hospital picture can be found here (pictures will be posted Wednesday night).
Pictures taken by family and friends can be found here.
Oh yeah, and we'll call her Luci for short :)

Tomorrow's the Big Day!
Tomorrow at 7pm to be exact! Today at the doctor we found out that I was still not ready to come out, so the doctor set up an induction date for my mom and I'm coming soon. We go into the hospital at 7pm on Tuesday February 19th and hopefully the medicine will kick in so that I can make an appearance into this world. After I'm born, my mom and dad are changing the name of the website, so be ready to see it (cause it includes my name)! Also, by the end of this week, please start looking for pictures of me.
